Here are some pictures from the Dare2Tri military camp training session just before Leon's Triathlon. You can see the enthusiasm and joy in the participants in these pictures. I saw it and felt it working with them over the weekend and everyone finished their tri. Please help support this great group and the work they do.

Please watch this short documentary video about Dare2Tri. Dare2Tri inspires disabled people to become paratriathletes and maybe they will inspire you.

I also want to thank everyone who has made a contribution that will help Dare2Tri continue it work.
Welcome to my Dare2Tri fundraising page. You are here because in some way or other you know me as family, friend, training partner. You know I have been committed to helping others socially, politically and personally my entire adult life. Dare2Tri is one of those organizations that works for those same goals by helping people who have physical or visual disabilities achieve the goal of completing a triathlon. I know the joy I feel every time I run, bike or swim. I feel privileged to help others in a small way to feel that same joy. I am competing in the Chicago Triathlon on August 26th as part of the Dare2Tri team. As part of that team I am asking for your support to raise funds so more physically impaired individuals can become athletes. All money raised by the Dare2Tri team goes to buying adaptive equipment for the athletes. Below are some costs associated with Dare2tri’s adaptive equipment.
- $1,000 covers operating costs for two recreational athletes for one season
- $3,500 purchases a racing wheelchair
- $4,000 secures a tandem bicycle
- $5,500 covers the cost of a racing hand bicycle
- $10,000 covers the cost of a prosthetic running leg
Please give what you can, Dare2Tri is a 501(c)3 not-for profit organization. Thank you.
Bob
Dare2tri transforms the lives of people with physical disabilities and visual impairments by helping them be active through the sport of triathlon. It’s more than just the swim, bike, and run—Dare2tri is a community of people that believe ability is limitless when you set your mind to something. Dare2tri builds confidence and self-worth, and makes physical activity a way of life for people of all abilities.
Dare2tri is proud to partner with the Transamerica Chicago Triathlon to build a fundraising team. All funds raised by the Dare2tri Race2Raise Team will provide equipment, training, and programs that give people with physical disabilities and visual impairments the opportunity to lead active, healthy lifestyles.
